Ode to Beauty

The world bleeds beauty

            Leaks it like ink

                        Into every existing

                                    Atom of things.

The world bleeds beauty

Pulsates and pumps it

            And drums it

And thrums it

Like a heart in a body,

            Into every existing

                        Atom of things.

The world breathes beauty

Heaves and release’ it

Fills it and spills it

Like lungs in a body

Into every existing

Atom of Things.

Beauty indelibly saturates airs;

            Molecules mate in erotic affairs;

Intangible things are pregnant with weight,

            Pregnant with beauty, pregnant with fate.

In mists draping mountains,

Fogs unfurling to clouds;

In gurgling, burbling fountains,

Beauty bends, murmurs, bows.

Beauty clamors and clings

To elusive and tangible things;

Things like dreams that dream,

Dreams that unseam

            To spill and fill

                        Into every existing

                                    Atom of things.

Beauty clings and clamors

To every stagger and stammer

Of bare branches fracturing skies,

Fracturing evil, fracturing lies,

So truth—

            Might shine through;

So beauty—

            Might shine true.

So truth and beauty—

            Might shine through and true.

The world bleeds beauty. We –

drum out its heartbeats.
